             Ecology & Biodiversity Conservation Division

 Project Title:  Standardization of Nursery Techniques of Five Dominant Species (Capparis spinosa, Ribes spp., Caragana spp.; Collutea spp. Cratagus spp.) of Cold Deserts. 

 Principle Investigator: Dr. K.S. Kapoor

 Period: 2002-2006

 Objectives:

  • To study the site characteristics supporting these identified species.
  • To study the ecological requirements of the identified species.
  • To carry out comparative studies on various ecological parameters of these identified plant species in the zones of their distribution.
  • To take up nursery trials of the species on pilot basis.
  • To standardize nursery techniques of the identified species keeping in view the various ecological and silvicultural requirements.                                                                         Back
